How a round-up becomes a donation.

Five steps from choosing an organization to the day it’s paid. Nothing is collected until you authorize it.

  1. Step 1: Choose an organization.

Pick a masjid, nonprofit or local initiative. Every one is reviewed before it’s listed, and you can switch later.

  2. Step 2: Link your cards and a bank.

Cards you turn on are tracked for round-ups. Donations come from one bank. Both connect through Stripe, and you authorize the debits once, in the app.

    • Checking withdrawals stay in review, since bank data can’t tell purchases from bills.

  3. Step 3: Purchases round up.

When a purchase posts, Seed rounds it up to the next dollar.

    • A whole-dollar purchase adds nothing.
    • Pending charges count once they post.
    • Transfers, card payments and refunds don’t count.

  4. Step 4: At $5, Seed collects $5.

Seed debits $5 from your bank by ACH. Anything over $5 waits for the next one, and a failed debit isn’t retried.

  5. Step 5: Then it’s given.

Once the collection completes, the donation is recorded for your organization and a receipt appears in the app. The organization is paid out separately.

Who sees what.

Stripe connects your accounts. Seed sees only what it needs to count round-ups. Your organization sees donations, nothing more.

Past round-ups
Seed asks once whether to give round-ups from before you joined, as one payment you confirm.
Receipts
Payment receipts are in the app. Your organization provides donation acknowledgments.
Stopping
Unlink a bank, withdraw your authorization or delete your account in Settings.
Zakat
Round-ups are voluntary sadaqah. They don’t automatically fulfill zakat.
